Matthew 12
1 At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and His disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn and to eat.
The sabbath is Christ Jesus. ref. - Ch.11, we yoke with Him and He gives us rest. They were starving so much, they ate the corn right where it stood.
2 But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto Him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day.
These Pharisees believe they can tell Him about The Law.
3 But He said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;
These Pharisees aren't using common sense. Their stuck in their [own] legalism. I Samuel 21:6 So the priest gave him [David] hallowed bread: for there was no bread there but the shewbread, that was taken from before the Lord, to put hot bread in the day when it was taken away.
4 How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?
When there is work to be done, it doesn't matter what day of the week it is. We have duties that must go forth. The priest had things to do on the sabbath and if they were real priest they did them. Common sense must be applied. Jesus is asking these Pharisees, was David not a priest in the eyes of God, and doing His work?
5 Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?
6 But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.
Is one greater than the Temple of God itself.
7 But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.
Other words, if they would have only used a little common sense they wouldn't have made such statements, and accusations of these guiltless men. Hosea 6:6 For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.
8 For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.
The "Lord even of the Sabbath" is God. His work is never done and yours shouldn't be either. Get out there and get busy † What His disciples are doing on this day is legal, and if they had any common sense, they would understand that. The whole purpose of the Sabbath is to be about Christ's business. If you're a Christian, you're at work every day in Christ.
9 And when He was departed thence, He went into their synagogue:
10 And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked Him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse Him.
These church goers are twisting things. They're trying to set Christ Jesus up with their questioning. "the sabbath"= rest, and Christians rest in Christ. When you do, you are honoring the Sabbath. We should rest our body's when needed, but our minds should be at peace, resting in The Only One that can give it. In Him, we rest daily. Christ Jesus Yahshua is our Sabbath.
11 And He said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?
Earthly, there are things that need be done every day, and spiritually, there are things that need to be done EVERYDAY.
12 How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.
Is a human more important than an animal? Don't the disciples of Christ not work every day? As with David, if it is lawful for one of his men and the priests to take the shewbread on the Sabbath, then it is also lawful of one of His disciples or His elect. The reason for this is that when we are in Christ, EVERYDAY is our Sabbaths.
13 Then saith He to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.
Christ healed this man right in front of these religious high minded people on the sabbath. Oh my!
14 Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against Him, how they might destroy Him.
These Pharisees kenites, didn't like God being there in the flesh, making them look bad to themselves. They just witnessed a healing, hearing The Truth about the Sabbath and they wanted to murder Christ. Christ has brought with Him division from the ways of the world and traditions of humans in the churches. Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. His Word = The Sword, cuts both ways. It brings evil to its knees with correction and peace for those that seek Him.
15 But when Jesus knew it, He withdrew Himself from thence: and great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them all;
16 And charged them that they should not make Him known:
17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
The salvation in which Christ would bring to us all. Isaiah 42:1-3 1 Behold My Servant, Whom I uphold; Mine elect, in Whom My soul delighteth; I have put My spirit upon Him: He shall bring forth judgement to the Gentiles. 2 He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause His voice to be heard in the street. 3 A bruised reed shall He not break, and the smoking flax shall He not quench: He shall bring forth judgment unto truth.
18 Behold My Servant, whom I have chosen; My Beloved, in Whom My soul is well pleased: I will put My spirit upon Him, and He shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.
19 He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear His voice in the streets.
When you hear Jesus in the streets it will be with authority. He isn't going to be a whiner.
20 A bruised reed shall He not break, and smoking flax shall He not quench, till He send forth judgment unto victory.
When a reed is bruised, it falls apart, and when a wick is cold, if you touch it, it falls apart. It had no strength. God can restore it all and you can burn bright in Christ.
21 And in His name shall the Gentiles trust.
There is not one you could ever trust more, than The One Christ Jesus Yasha.
22 Then was brought unto Him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and He healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.
Only in Christ can we be healed. Just as in the flax, and the bruised reed, only Christ can put us back on together, making us whole. So many in this world run from Him while complaining about their lives, wondering what they can do to change it for the better. He is there and has been all along. It's about their pride and flesh. All they have to do is let go of it and come to The Only peace there is. Christ Jesus Yasha.
23 And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?
Fleshly, the bloodline of Christ, comes through David. This is but part of The Key of David. For every positive there is a negative. satan has a bloodline also, and his children started with Cain.
24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.
"Beelzebub" = "lord of the flies" in Hebrew and these Pharisees are saying Christ is of satan = the prince of death.
25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
There is only one house with ONE Christ. Denominations = division and that's what has become of the church. They follow wrong translations and therefore fall from The Truth. To "join" The True Church, all you have to do is repent in Christ Jesus Yasha's name and study as to not fall.
26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?
satans house can't stand if he fights himself, so as a Christian, you should stand on The Truth, all together fighting the good fight. The Truth will hold it's own†
27 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.
Go to your people and ask the question, because if Christ be of the devil, then He became one of them, doesn't work, because they wanted nothing to do with God, or Christ.
28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.
ONLY through The Spirit of God can evil be cast out. If you see this power, know it is of the kingdom of God coming to you.
29 Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.
satan wanted to keep his evil on the man and by doing so would control his house.
30 He that is not with Me is against Me; and he that gathereth not with Me scattereth abroad.
This is where you can get down to where the rubber hits the road. So many have an anything goes or you don't know me frame of mind. That's because they don't like to hear Truth. It's all of God's Word or nothing. As a Christian, we are to hold to His Truth no matter what. So many conform to the ways of the world. It's a sad fact! This is all while calling themselves Christian. If you don't have time for God's Word, you're giving time to satan.
31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit shall not be forgiven unto men.
This is more for the elect in the days you're living in today. Some will be called to speak and they are to allow God to speak through them. If they refuse, they have committed this unforgivable sin. Mark 13:11 But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought before hand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye, for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Spirit.
32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.
Repentance for your actions against Christ can be forgiven, but rejection The Holy Spirit to speak through you, rejection of The Spirit isn't forgiven, ever.
33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.
The verse will help you understand Genesis and the garden better. "Tree" = person or being and "fruit" = action. You are known by your actions. What we put in, we will put out. Make sure it's The Word of God you're putting in and blessings flow everywhere, within you and out from you. I will add, What many won't perceive as a blessing, you will be able to see it as one.
34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
They speak evil because they are evil. These have become even more crafty in today's world. They twist things up trying to confuse you.
35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
Sooner or later, you will be able to see a person for who they are. Their good words and deeds are for good or some, for selfishness or mischief. Be careful in this world today. If you study The Word, it will be very hard to be fooled. Proverbs 14:8 The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit. Ecclesiastes 7:19 Wisdom strengtheneth the wise more than ten mighty men which are in the city. †
36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
This is to Pastors, if you claim to be one, you had better be teaching The Truth and not traditions or fiction.
37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
Pastors will have reward or punishment according to what they were teaching. There are more fakes out there today than ones that hold to The Truth. The difference is sugar or salt, Truth or conforming to the flesh.
38 Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from Thee.
They're being sarcastic, because after all they have seen Christ Jesus do, they want a sign from Him. Many of us have seen His work in our lives, but want a sign from Him. Real Christians know and see Him every day in their lives. If you have opened your eyes today, He has given you a sign. You have another day to change things and be blessed. Some just don't want Him no matter what they hear and see. These, don't waste your time with.
39 But He answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:
"Jonas" = "the dove" and a sign The Holy Spirit resting on Christ. In Him we have life everlasting. Christ will rise after three days as Jonas was in the whales belly three days. Jonah: 1:17 Now the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights. Christ Jesus is telling these scribes and Pharisees Jonas would be there only sign.
40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.
Those of Nineveh believed what Christ said, were these scribes and Pharisees refused The Truth and all they had seen. For that reason they will
be judged by Nineveh. These Jews and Kenites will
be found guilty because of this.
42 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.
The Queen of Sheba heard of the wisdom of God in Solomon's preaching, understanding the value of it. Even this converted queen will be judged of this generation that crucified our Lord.
43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.
unclean spirit = evil spirit is always looking for a place to call home. With Christ in you, it runs. Stay focused on The ONLY One that gives life.†
44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.
If it leaves a person, it will return to that same person finding them all cleaned up.
45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.
This is why we must stay in The Word EVERYDAY, keeping that armor on. Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
46 While He yet talked to the people, behold, His mother and His brethren stood without, desiring to speak with Him.
47 Then one said unto Him, Behold, Thy mother and Thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with Thee.
They have left their home, to speak to Him.
48 But He answered and said unto him that told Him, Who is My mother? and who are My brethren?
He is speaking spiritually. He came for everyone and we all belong to God.
49 And He stretched forth His hand toward His disciples, and said, Behold My mother and My brethren!
Introductions, looking at the flesh blood or genealogy and together in one accord.
50 For whosoever shall do the will of My Father Which is in heaven, the same is My brother, and sister, and mother.
God is our Father. He love us and loves to hear from us more than just when you're in need. Thank Him every day, tell Him you love Him every day in thoughts and actions.
