Acts 2

1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

"cloven" # 1266, "Diamerizo= to partition thoroughly [lit. in distribution] cloven, divide, part. Different languages went in every direction with the fire of The Spirit of God.

4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Do you know how many use this as the point the races where created? To many! Sadly they lack understanding of The Word. "Tongues" = "languages", # 1100 the word; "Glossa, gloce-sah', by impl. a language [spec. one naturally unacquired]: - tongue." The Holy Spirit spoke through all of them, the apostles and all of the people. God also gives understand of whats being said, when you listen.

5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.

All the nations, ethos of the world were in Jerusalem and would hear in the tongues = language they were born in.

6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.

This isn't the junk the "Pentecostal churches" do today. On this Feast Day of Pentecost, The Spirit of God spoke through them and they heard what was said in their own language. No nonsense gibber gabbier!

7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?

They are amazed because they understand what these Galilaeans are saying, but in their own language from where they were from.

8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?

How do I understand what they are saying when I wasn't born in their country? That's The Holy Spirit and the cloven tongues giving them utterance. "Dialectos, mode of discourse, or i.e. dialect; language".

9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,

These are the people that showed up in Jerusalem on that feast day of Pentecost. The Parthians from India, Medes is the middle land between Persia Iran and India, Elamites and the dwellers in Messopotamia cover the land from Turkey across to Iraq and down to Arabia. This also would cover Syriac, Greek, Hebrew, Helenist. Cappadocia = provinces in Asia Minor and the nations on the Western Coast governed by Rome. Even in far off Asia, were those Jews that were scattered present in Jerusalem during the time of this Pentecost feast day.

10 Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,

Phrygia and Pamphylia is the Asia Minor. Egypt and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene are northern African nations. The strangers of Rome are Europe and European nations governed by Rome. Jews and proselytes are those of every other place. Proselytes are even Kenites mixed and accepted in the traditions of the Jews. Every tongue was there hearing their own language.

11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.

If your following this study, you should be able to see clearly it's not the gibberish the "Pentecostal churches" and others teach today. In context, if you can't understand what's said, or it doesn't sound like a language, it's of the devil more than likely.

12 And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?

They were blown away by the fact they understood what others were saying in their own language. Could you imagine? It should be a sign to them and us of the power of God.

13 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.

They didn't know what to think about what they saw and heard except to say they were drunk.  When you don't understand something, a human reaction is to make fun of it. I couldn't tell you how many think I'm a fool because I teach The Truth and don't fall in line with the fakes. I could get so many friends, follows and donations if I was to teach the junk other so-called "pastors" teach. Sorry! That's not me, I'm a Christian and teacher of God's Word not a beggar nor follower of human traditions and false doctrines.

14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:

They wanted to mock God and His power and Peter with the other eleven weren't going to have it. How bold are you with The Truth? I pray you have the same boldness

15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.

Peter is letting them know just how wrong they are.

16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;

17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

For ANYONE to say a women can't be a pastor is ignorant of this verse and more.  Joel 2:28-32  28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:  29 And also upon the servants and upon the hand maids in those days will I pour out My spirit.  30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.  31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the Lord come.  32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered:"

18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

This is during that hour of temptation; the very days Joel spoke of in Joel 2:28-32. satan's locust army will be on the earth deceiving all, that's the days spoken "those days". Both men and women of God = God's elect shall teach. Remember it will be the Holy Spirit that will be doing the teaching through them.

19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:

It is time to open your eyes and observe what is going on around you. Never forget, our Father is in control and what is happening is completely according to His will and written Word.

20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of the Lord come:

21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Attention! Did you see the condition?

22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:

Christ showed these miracles, wonders and signs right in the middle of you and you saw them take place. When you watched Jesus perform those things, you knew He wasn't a common man.

23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

Peter is saying that it is with the foreknowledge of God that Christ would be crucified. Ref. Psalm 22

24 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.

We can escape death if we chose Christ, as He defeated death = satan, on the cross.  Hebrews 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

25 For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved:

David had said this very thing, Ref.  Psalm 16:8 I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

26 Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:

When you have that faith in Christ and the sacrifice He gave, you can rest while in this flesh, walking in Him and His path.

27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

Christ gave everyone the way out of the traps of satan and hell. He went there after the cross that they too could chose. God gives equal chances to every soul.  1 Peter 3:17-19  17 For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.  18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;

28 Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.

Psalm 16:8-11  8 I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.  9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.  10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.  11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.

The bones of David are still in his grave in Jerusalem and Peter is reminding them of this fact.

30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;

As part of the key of David, the blood line of Christ was from the prophet David. 2 Samuel 7:12 And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of they bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.

31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

As a Christian, you should know once you die you are instantly with The Father and your flesh is of no more use to you.

32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.

All those there on Pentecost day, ten days prior to see the resurrected Christ as He ascended into heaven in that whirlwind are all witnesses of The Truth.

33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

The things they had seen and heard was that cloven tongue of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost day. They were not drunk, they had Christ's Spirit speaking through them seeing the words that Joel had prophesied.

34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

Davids body didn't go anywhere but in the ground. Back to the elements from which it was made. His soul got a new body, a heavenly body where he sits today.

35 Until I make thy foes thy footstool.

This day is FAST approaching.

36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

"Lord" = Servant of God, "Christ" = The Anointed One.

37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

They wanted to know, What can we do to accept Christ? They felt compelled within themselves for a change of heart and mind. They could finally see

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Upon that repentance you are baptized by the blood He gave. By His blood we are cleansed. Don't let the bath preaching trip you up!

39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

He died for them until the last soul is born of the water from the womb. It's up to each of us to accept Him or the world. I don't care what religion you chose, you're of the world. Christ is The Only Way to life in the flesh and everlasting.

40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

"untoward" = "crooked". Are you able to see the world and its ways that are crooked and separate them from the ways of God? Many can't while even claiming to be Christians.

41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

When you receive The Truth, at that instance you are baptized in His blood. It's the repentance, through the blood of Christ.

42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

Someone that gladly receives Christ will continue stedfastly in The Word and the path they should follow.

43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.

This shouldn't read "fear" but should read "amazement" or "Ah"; And ah came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.

44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;

That is the way it is suppose to be. We should be "yoked in same mind". Denominations = division and that's what has happened with false doctrine. It created a division, but each individual let that happen to themselves. They didn't give time to God and His Word, but instead listened to humans twisting of it.

45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.

They let go of the earthly way of things and gave their focus to the things of God.

46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

They met together in same mind and love for one another. Spiritually they fed on The Meat of The Word, growing in it, becoming what God would have them be.

47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

The Christian Church started on Pentecost Day with these 120 people, on that first day, 3000 souls were added to the church = the body of Christ.  Glory to God in the highest
