1 Peter 5
1 The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:
Peter had seen it all and is going to let everyone know about Christ Jesus.
2 Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
Give of yourself to preach The Word to those around you willing to listen. "Feed the flock"!
3 Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being examples to the flock.
A REAL Pastor will lead others to The Truth, not like most today with a few verse and sugar coated junk in churches. What do you think Christ would do if He heard what was being said in His house? I believe He would ask, "where is MY WORD?"
4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
We reap what we sow. What do you do for The Lord each and everyday? Follow Christ and His Word? You will be just fine.
5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
Stop worrying about things. Faith is something only REAL Christians have and they let The LORD handle things that are out of their hands. FAITH!
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
STAY FOCUSED on The Lord and His Words. satan is ALWAYS trying to bring you down and tempt you. What you put in, you WILL put out! What's in you, The Lord or the world? You know the answer!
9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
Everyone is tempted of the devil. The world follows him, REAL Christians aren't fooled. We live in The Word, not the world.
10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
It's what He does when we just let Him work in us. Open your hearts and minds, feel the peace come over you no matter what is happening around you.
11 To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
12 By Silvanus, a faithful brother unto you, as I suppose, I have written briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God wherein ye stand.
Peter is saying to them that he wrote a letter and Silas is going to give it to them. A stand is making a difference. Only through The Word can we make a TRUE stand against evil.
13 The church that is at Babylon, elected together with you, saluteth you; and so doth Marcus my son.
14 Greet ye one another with a kiss of charity. Peace be with you all that are in Christ Jesus. Amen.
Those within Christ, "Christians" know and understand the peace He gives. It's called FAITH and we have it, God bless you ALL.
