                                                                   Matthew 10

1 And when He had called unto Him His twelve disciples, He gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.

A disciple is one that studies under Christ, that chooses to walk with Him, on His path. He give you power in His name and He will do these things through you.

2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;

3 Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus;

A surname = a family name.

4 Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed Him.

But remember, Judas Iscariot repented and was then murdered for it. He didn't commit suicide as most teach today. Matthew 27:3 Then Judas, which had betrayed Him, when he saw that he was condemned, [repented] himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,  He didn't want the blood money anymore. Acts 1:16-19   16 Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.  17 For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.  18 Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he [burst asunder in the midst], and all [his bowels gushed out.] ----Notice here his "bowels gushed" because he was "burst asunder" he was cut open that all his insides had landed in the ground.  19 And it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood.

5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:

God told them this because it wasn't time of the Gentiles yet. Christ Jesus hadn't gone to the cross.

6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

As Christians, we should never stand by and do nothing when we see a need for something. Christ Jesus set the example, we are to follow. James 5:14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:  Help those spiritually dead come to understanding The Truth of The Word. Order those evil spirits out in Christ Jesus Yahshua's name, anointing with oil. Christ Jesus name is your authority and in Him is your power.

9 Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses,

When doing God's work, God will provide.

10 Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat.

Feed The Truth and you will be taken care of. A person is worthy of their hire and expenses should be taken care of by those being fed.

11 And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, enquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence.

Go where they accept The Word. Those close by, that hunger for Truth will come to that location.

12 And when ye come into an house, salute it.

Ask for God to place peace on the house. "Salute it" Greek word = "salaam"

13 And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.

Don't sweat their rejection, you keep going. Christians are can do people! † If there is resentment in that house, don't ask a blessing over it. Move on to the one that accepts Truth and ask it be blessed. If you're following the study, you see it stays within context. If not, you're going to fall into a sugarcoated pit.

14 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.

Don't sweat those that reject The Truth. There is someone around the corner waiting to hear it. We are not beggars, we are Bible teachers.  John 15:18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.

15 Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

All the sinners in Sodom and Gomorrha look better on judgement day than those that reject God's Word when they hear it.

16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

17 But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues;

Even some pastors are going to hate the things you say. They either don't know The Word or they are afraid the people will wake up to more than what they teach. This also applies to when satan is here claiming to be Christ. We that know who he is, will stand against him, while our family and friends run to him, leaving the rooftop they will go to the synagogues = churches and tell about your unbelief.  Mark 13:11 But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Spirit. That evil one will fool many because they just didn't have time for The Word and "pastors" haven't taught The Word. satan comes as light = a fake light. Christ is light so satan is given the same look and ability to perform miracles. satan comes first. 2 Corinthians 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

18 And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for My sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.

In this world of lies and deceit, you that hold to The Truth of God are His voice in a world of false teachings.

19 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.

God is going to speak through them. If you refuse Him, you have committed the only unforgivable sin.  Luke 12:10 And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Spirit it shall not be forgiven.   Mark 13:9-11  9 But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for My sake, for a testimony against them.  10 And the gospel must first be published among all nations.  11 But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Spirit.

20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.

21 And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.

This isn't talking about killing or murder. satan has many names and death is one of them. Your own family is going to come against you because you won't follow their christ jesus = satan. They're going to tell on you.

22 And ye shall be hated of all men for My name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

Let's face it, the world hates REAL Christians. Don't let them take you!

23 But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.

Keep pushing forward. The Lord will be here very soon and reward is yours †

24 The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.

You're a disciple = student of Christ, so follow His path, His examples. Follow His Word!

We are to follow Christ and study to the best of our ability.  Christian = Christ like and you won't know without study.  They called Christ Jesus Beelzebub = satan and they will call you the same, because you hold to The Truth and they hate it. Ref. - Matthew 12:23-25  23 And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?  24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.  25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

26 Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.

It all comes out in the end.

27 What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.

What you learn from The Word and The Spirit, spread it to everyone you can in your life. WITHOUT FEAR!

28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him Which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Heaven is call such because there isn't any evil in it. God will destroy those that chose evil.

29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.

The value of the sparrow is 1/2 the smallest unit of money then, a farthing. Christ Jesus is telling us that when one of these little birds dies, God is aware of it. He's saying, we can know how much more God cares for us, then one of these little birds.

30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

31 Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

"FEAR NOT" Our Father is watching over us.

32 Whosoever therefore shall confess Me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.

Do you let others know you're a Christian?

33 But whosoever shall deny Me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

No peace on earth, because the day we do, He will be here on earth = 7th trump. But we can have peace in our hearts though Him. 1 Thessalonians 5:9-11  9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,  10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him.  11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

"Variance" = a difference in what members believe. Some just don't like The Truth.

36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Your family will do and say things you don't like, because you have given yourself to The Lord and they hate it. They love the world more.

37 He that loveth father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. 

The One that made you and them and all things good, should be loved more. Our God is a jealous Father. 

38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after Me, is not worthy of Me.

If you can't put your faith in Him, and handle the things of the world coming after you, you won't be found worthy. Christians ARE can do people, not poor me baby's. 1 Corinthians 15:31 I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.

39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for My sake shall find it.

You must let self go, before you can have Christ enter in. There isn't room for both. The worldly way isn't part of the Christian way.

40 He that receiveth you receiveth Me, and he that receiveth Me receiveth Him That sent Me.

41 He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward.

When you see someone or a ministry that's worthy of support, then be faithful to them. There are many beggars today, and few doing the real work.

42 And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

Our Father knows the hairs on your head, the birds and the glass of water given in His name. He sees the littlest part in the promotion of the gospel, and the helping of one of His own. He will reward you greatly for it.
