Hebrews 12
1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
Christians are can do people of God.
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Our example is Christ. He went through more than we do today and had victory in the end. Where do you stand and Where is your FAITH? Your answer will be your outcome.
3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
Look at all those that rejected Christ Words when they were spoken directly from his mouth, He pushed forward, so should you. Be bold Christians. You are not door mats, nor wimps. You are salt of the earth. Suck it up and get out there. Show the world what Christians are made of. You have been given power of it all.
4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.
When things get tough, do you stand in Truth or coward to the worldly way of thinking and doing.
5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
When our Father shows us we are wrong, be strong and follow Him.
6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
Sometimes we need the 2x4 to see our way isn't God's. What matters is, did we learn and change direction.
7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
Every REAL parent will discipline their child. That is
love! They want the best for them and will lead the The Way they SHOULD go. Proverbs
22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not
depart from it.
8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
If God isn't giving you things in life to set you straight, you're not part of His life and are as an illegitimate child to Him. God will never force anyone to be a part of His life and will let you go about your way until death. There is a reason way there is no door knob on the outside of the door when Christ knocks. You must open the door and let Him in.
9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
Our dads corrected us as to have us be better people. God corrects us as for us to be better Christians = followers of Christ. He has a plan for us. For some it was moms, grandparents, brothers or sisters. The point is correction.
10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.
Our Father does things for our own good. Everything He does is and should always be a blessing in our eyes. Thank you Father for ALL you do.
11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
Some will take the chastising of The LORD and better themselves. By this, making things after, a blessing.
12 Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees;
God has made you and built you to be something beyond yourself. You ARE can do people of God. Get up and show the world who you are.
13 And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.
Our way is to death, but His path is to life. It's time to get on track!
14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
Those looking for a fight, leave them to their own demise. Speak The Truth and let the chips fall where they may. Keep your heart in The Lord. When you follow God and stay in His Word EVERYDAY, it WILL bring nothing but peace of mind when trouble surrounds you. Only He can provide The Truth that will set and calm you.
15 Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;
Don't let the world control any aspect of your life. Stay focused on God's Way for your life. This is the problem today. People, even those claiming to be Christians, have let the world control the way they should think. The Christian walk is one the world will hate. Those that hate you define if you are on the right track. Let them hate! You continue in The Truth and show that love in the words you speak and actions you take. That means Speak The Truth of The Word and let what happens, happen. That IS TRUE LOVE!
16 Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.
Don't go whoring yourself after the worldly ways letting go of what God has given you in salvation. YES! You can lose it. Many are falling away. 2 Thessalonians 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; These fall from The Truth. They chose to follow a lie instead of what they were taught.
17 For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.
Now you know [IF] you have a heart of change and repent in Christ name, it is done. Don't think for a second you're going to fool God.
18 For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest,
Our way to The Father isn't of the old, but of Christ. All you have to do is repent in His name, not climb a mountain.
19 And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more:
If you heard God speak to you, would you follow? He is doing just that EVERYDAY through His letter to us, The Bible and speaking to our hearts.
20 (For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart:
The law was what is commanded. You can thank God, He sent His son to die for you and me, that through repentance our sins are forgiven.
21 And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:)
Standing face to face with God will do that to you.
22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,
When you repent in Christ name, you then live where you should live. Within The Life of The LORD.
23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,
Heaven's church = the body of believers in Christ. God is going to judge us all accordingly. Have Christ? You're on your way to that perfection.
24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
Abel's blood screamed for vengeance, but The Blood of Christ shows us love.
25 See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:
Refusing Christ and His Word? You are stuck and will continue to be with the thoughts of your own making and the lies you chose to follow.
26 Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.
Upon Christ return, the earth will be put back the way it was intended to be. Everything created evil will be gone. This happens on the 7th trump. That's Christ Jesus return. NOT until that 7th trump, also known as The Trump of God.
27 And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.
Do you have The Word in you. Then you can't be shaken, so stop letting the things of the world come between you and The Truth of God. This is a big problem in the Christian world today. They don't want to offend anyone when what is affective is the twisting of the meaning of words. The lack of God in their hearts and the understanding of what is evil in the sight of God. Too much sugar is why the world is falling. We are to be salt! If you don't stand as a TRUE Christian, you stand for nothing.
28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:
That "grace" favor has been shown, now we must "serve God acceptably" = in His sight. Once you repent, you better get to work!
29 For our God is a consuming fire.
He is going to consume all that is evil. It WILL be burnt up.
