2 Thessalonians 1
1 Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ:
2 Grace unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth;
When you're in The Word, you grow. Then and only then, do you see The Way to go while in this flesh.
4 So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure:
Christians know how to get it done under any and all circumstances. The Thessalonian church stayed in The Word and because of that they were able bodied, mind and soul in all the worldly or spiritual problems. People call out to God whenever they fall deep enough to do so. They have very little to no time for God in their daily walk. These Thessalonians are true Christians. They know it's an everyday walk.
5 Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:
Only in The Truth of God can you have the ability to judge righteously.
6 Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;
You mess with one of Gods children and you mess with God Himself. God created all souls, but let's face it, many could care less about Him and therefore are not considered His children. A Child of God follows God, that of satan follows satan. They become one of his. John 3:19-21 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. The Point of verse 6 is God will handle them, don't sweat who they are or what they do. Romans 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. God will take care of your adversary in His way and time.
7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
Christ is coming, you can rest on that fact. The only way to have peace of mind and I mean True Peace of mind, is in Christ, The Word. This world's getting more evil by the second. Rest in Christ and feel the warmth and comfort you've been missing.
8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
No sense in worrying about anything. Christ is coming and justice is coming with Him. Those that have followed Him in His Word have NOTHING to worry about. He's NOT angry with you.
9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
The choice is all ours. No one is forcing us to choose the direction we CHOOSE to go.
10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.
The Lords coming very soon. Are you one of His? Have you repented and do you believe?
11 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:
We carry our faith with us while we work. Are you a can do Christian? The amount of faith you have will also show the power you have. Christ is in you, so work in righteousness.
