Hebrews 6
1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
Paul is asking us, can't we continue on from the teaching of salvation and go to the meat of The Word?
2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
These things are The milk of The Word. Once you have the understanding of these things, it's time for some meat. Are you being feed?
3 And this will we do, if God permit.
If you teach after the salvation and gifts with meat for listening ears, God will see they understand. If they carry it, it's up to them.
4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit,
Once we see The Truth we have a hard time keeping it to ourselves.
5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
Through the meat of The Word we have grown to understand what is about to happen and what it brings. The New Age! Still on milk? It's time to grow up now and study, that The meat of The Word will prepare you for what's about to come.
6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
Teaching repentance over and over to those that have repented daily is a shame. There is so much to learn from The Word. This is why so many that call themselves Christian don't have any idea about The Word of God other than salvation, tithing and love. They lack the understanding of judging correctly, The Key of David, what lies so called pastors tell. They wouldn't know a tradition of man to the Word of God. You won't get The Truth from most so-called "pastors" today and They won't study!
7 For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:
God provided what the earth needs to grow and He does for humans as well. His Words, The KJV Bible 1611! What are you soaking in?
8 But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.
What you put into your mind will be what is put out in your life. Weeds or The Word? One is death, the other life. Heaven is called such, because there is no evil in it.
9 But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.
Paul is telling us that there is much more than the teaching of salvation. I'm sure of the fact many aren't taught those things in today's churches.
10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
In the end it's reward or punishment. What are you doing to make sure it's reward? Our works do follow us. - Rev. 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.
11 And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:
Do you [diligently] seek God's Word? [IF] you do then you can rest [assured] reward is coming to you.
12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
Don't take my word for anything I say, but check The Word out yourself. It could be an eye opener.
13 For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,
God told Abraham He would bless all the nations through his seed = sperma = children, offspring.
14 Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.
God to Abraham.
15 And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.
After waiting for 100 years, God gave them Isaac. God's blessings to us are on His time, not ours. Keep your eyes open!
16 For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife.
When using God to bring an end to a conflict it is done. Done when the two parties are in agreement with God as their witness.
17 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:
If you believe in Jesus Christ and repented of your sins, you are one of the "heirs of promise". "Immutability of His counsel" = an heir of the promise.
18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:
"Two immutable things" = "God's promise and God's oath". When He says something, you better believe it!
19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;
We hold still with that anchor fastened with hope. Stead fast in The Word. Able to enter into Christ ourselves. Don't pull anchor, Stay in The Word!
20 Whither the forerunner
is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of
Melchisedec.
Remember "Melchisedec" Hebrew for
"Melcha", = king and "Zedok", meaning "Just."
The King of the just or elect.
