1 Corinthians 2
1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.
Paul reminds them when he came, he didn't come with big words or with confusing speech while teaching them about Christ.
2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
Paul didn't come with a bunch of his stories or own self serving words, but to teach the purpose of Christ. Hebrews 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself likewise took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is the devil;
3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.
He's just like everyone else.
4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
He didn't use tricks to catch people into hearing God's Word. He taught The Truth and let The Truth catch the people's attention.
5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
You can truly count on God. Yes, there are good people out there, but humans can and will let you down, God will NEVER let you down when you have faith in Him.
6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:
satan is the prince of this world age and he has many followers. These followers have created many salvations of their own, none of which have any truth in them or ways to life. satan is all death, it's after all one of his many names.
7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
God has chosen some souls to be here in this period of time because of the things they have done in the first earth age. This is that mystery spoken of here. Remember our study in Romans. Refresh yourself. There are many verses that show us a time before this flesh. Jeremiah 1:5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. Ephesians 1:4-5 4 According as He hath chosen us in Him before the foundations of this world [this earth age], that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love: 5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, 2 Peter 3:4-7 4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. 5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: 6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: [1st age] 7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, [this flesh age] by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
If they [these princes, servants of satan] knew, remembered or cared, they would have not crucified Christ. They wouldn't have crucified Him because when they did, satan was defeated at the cross. Christ came that we may have The Way to life when this flesh age is over, the test will be done and no more evil will exist.
9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
If you love God, you've taken the time to study His letter to you, The Holy Bible, The Word of God† You know "the things which God hath prepared."
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
Do you want The Truth, those things of God revealed to you? Then you seek Him and The Holy Spirit will open those things up to you.
11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
Only when someone opens their thoughts into words can you hear what they're thinking. God has given us His Words and by His Spirit we can understand.
12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
satan's spirit will keep you blind to The Truth. When we turn to Christ and The Word, our eyes will open to light, we then see the darkness that has been around us. You'll never know The Truth if you're running from it.†
13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Spirit teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
God's Spirit opens the mind to things humans on their own will never understand. A fleshly way of thinking will never grasp what is being said on that third level. This is why I say to begin to understand The Word, you must erase what you've been taught. There are more false teachers than true today. You must use caution, wisdom and prayer. 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
A fleshly thinking person is one that rejects God and reality. They'll never understand The Truth because they've corrupted themselves with the things of satan and the world and they refuse to let go of it. The church is even filled with these. They'll listen to everything a human says, never checking them out in The Word. If they did, they would see traditions and lies of humans have filled their churches.
15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
Do you know how to judge in righteousness? God's manual for life, His Word is the measure in which to judge. Can you Spiritually discern the things of God and humans? Can you see Truth or traditions? Can you see evil has been changed by humans into good and good into evil today? Do you know the difference?
16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ.
Christ has shown us The Way, His Way, His Path. By His Words and actions, we know the way to go and things to do. His mind has been opened to those that seek Him.
