Hebrews 7

1 For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;

After a battle comes a time of peace. King of the just, The King of peace, Christ Jesus The One that holds it for us that seek Him.

2 To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;

One deserving of the tithe. What have you done for God today, yesterday or this week? Do something NOW, tomorrow and for the rest of the week. It doesn't have to be a tenth. It can be a lot more or less. It is from your heart we give not a required percentage.

3 Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.

This is Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, Christ Jesus and Melchisedec are one in the same.

4 Now consider how great this man was, unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils.

Abraham gave to God in the flesh. That's really who we are giving to when we tithe.

5 And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham:

He was to collect the tithes, paid those tithes to Melchisedec through father Abraham.

6 But he whose descent is not counted from them received tithes of Abraham, and blessed him that had the promises.

They are not equal to the High Priest who is Melchisedec. Then again not one person is higher than Christ Jesus.

7 And without all contradiction the less is blessed of the better.

Abraham and the Levitical priesthood was lower in the order of the priesthood of Melchisedec. Why? Christ is king of Kings and Lord of Lords.

8 And here men that die receive tithes; but there he receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth.

As Christ lives, He receives it all from them that have died. Still speaking of Melchisedec, Christ Jesus = King of the just, High Priest, King of kings and Lord of lords.

9 And as I may so say, Levi also, who receiveth tithes, payed tithes in Abraham.

Before Levi was even born, because he would come to be of the Levitical priesthood would tithe to Melchisedec. Levi wouldn't be born for another two hundred years from the time of Abraham's tithing to Melchisedec.

10 For he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchisedec met him.

Levi!

11 If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?

Why was it when Christ came, they didn't call Jesus as of the Levitical priesthood, which was of the "order of Aaron" Christ's was instead called after the "order of Melchisedec". Because we fall short of the law, we have Christ. Our Father gave us The Way to life everlasting. All we have to do is accept HIM.

12 For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.

As through Christ came the repentance of sin. This is how to obtain forgiveness, NOT by taken a bath.

13 For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar.

The Levitical line tends the altar and Judah's line where kings and to rule. Christ being of both, it's why He is King of kings and Lord of lords.

14 For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.

"Of Juda" through the blood line of Joseph, adopted.

15 And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest,

16 Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.

Many priest came and when they die they needed to be replaced. Melchisedec had no mother or father He is the endless priesthood, Christ Jesus.

17 For he testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

Our Father testifies it is Christ our Priest "after the order of Melchisedec".

18 For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.

Human flesh is just too weak, therefore we have been given Christ as our strength, our Way to life today and to come. He did it on the cross. When we accept this FACT, we repent and are made new. "Study to shew thyself approved" Ref. - 2 Tim. 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

19 For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.

The way to God is through Christ not the law. He is perfection! Striving to Him, we strive to be as Him. Christian = Christ like. Not saying we are perfect, but our goal to be a Christian is to follow His path set forth.

20 And inasmuch as not without an oath he was made priest:

When God says something, you better believe it! Man didn't make Christ our Priest after the order of Melchisedec, God did!

21 (For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec:)

Christ Jesus Yahshua, Amen!

22 By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.

"Surety" = "guarantee" Christ Jesus is The Best Way. The ONLY Way. You can count on Him, Guaranteed!

23 And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death:

Priests are priests through bloodlines. None gave life, only laws, statues and ordinances. Though Christ, He gave His life that we may have one.

24 But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.

Christ came as flesh man to be our Priest forever more. As much as many try to change His Words and what is good, they can't. He is unchangeable!

25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

We may fall short, but with Christ paying that price for us, repent from the heart and do our best, we can live again.

26 For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

God in human flesh. Christ Jesus Yahshua.

27 Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.

The blood ordinances are done away with. His sacrifice was the last. His love for us is the greatest love of all.

28 For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.

Human laws are flawed. God's laws are perfection. Through Melchisedec, Christ Jesus our High Priest we can live towards that perfection.
