1 John 1
1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
"That which was from the beginning" and "the Word of life" is Christ Jesus Yahshua. What do you hear, where do you look and work from? Spiritually speaking. Do you look towards the worldly or towards Christ in your daily walk. As watchmen we should see what's going on and know what it means, but we have our hope in Christ. Our Faith is in Him.
2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)
We know the things of Christ. We know and understand His Word written down and given to us through those that walked with Him.
3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
"Fellowship", Greek 2842; "Koinonia, from #2844, participation, partnership, and communion." We are with Him or against Him. If you're claiming to be a Christian and loving the things of the world more, your against Him and are NOT in "Fellowship" with Him. There is NO gray area in Truth. Are you excited about the party or The Word?
4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.
How? Fellowship with God and His Word. The world WILL NEVER bring what God does to those that seek Him.
5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
What happens to darkness when light enters in? It consumes that darkness and allows you to see things for what they are. So many walk around in darkness. They lack understanding of what is real. They chose this! They can't seem to come out of it because they love being blind more than having sight. If only they would open their eyes and put the light in front of their lives.
6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
The worldly way or God. There is no in between or gray area when it comes to The Truth.
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
Did it say to take a bath to be cleansed? "The blood of Christ cleanses us!" Those that walk in The Light understand and teach the blood. Once you repent and believe Christ died and rose again on the third day, you are forgiven of ALL your [past] sins. Don't let those that say they walk in he Light put you in bondage.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
This is why we must repent DAILY, [IF] it's from the heart and [IF] it's in Christ Jesus Yahshua's name, you're forgiven. If you're preaching once saved always saved your deceiving yourself. Many teach it today, so be VERY careful in who you are listening to.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Notice the condition? [IF] we confess! It's done at that instance. He doesn't want to hear anymore about your PAST sins. YOU'RE FORGIVEN! Denominations and religions would have you jump threw hoops. There is but ONE True God and His Son, Christ Jesus is your ONLY way to life Everlasting. Repent and it is Done!
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
Only ONE is perfect, ONLY ONE. In Him we clean our sins away. His sacrifice for everyone that accepts it.
