Mark 3
1 And He entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand.
2 And they watched Him, whether He would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse Him.
The law was a shadow of the things to come in the New Testament, That being Christ Jesus. They're waiting to attack because the work of Christ on their traditional sabbath.
3 And He saith unto the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth.
"Stand forth" = come here!
4 And He saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace.
These kenites are looking for a way to murder Christ "on the sabbath", while Christ brings life EVERYDAY.
5 And when He had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, He saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.
It's sad to see the evil of people when they have The Way to love and completeness right in front of them.
6 And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against Him, how they might destroy Him.
The Herodians was the political arm or the bureaucrats of Herod. Evil can't stand good. We see this more and more each day.
7 But Jesus withdrew Himself with His disciples to the sea: and a great multitude from Galilee followed Him, and from Judaea,
You can rest assured the pharisees went crazy when they saw their money follow Christ and His disciples.
8 And from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and from beyond Jordan; and they about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they had heard what great things He did, came unto Him.
Could you imagine if people of the world today would seek Christ as they did then?
9 And He spake to His disciples, that a small ship should wait on Him because of the multitude, lest they should throng Him.
They had to get a ship because the crowd had grown to big for their own safety.
10 For He had healed many; insomuch that they pressed upon Him for to touch Him, as many as had plagues.
They're rushing in, crowding them and you should know when that happens, people will get hurt.
11 And unclean spirits, when they saw Him, fell down before Him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God.
The evil spirits knew who He was and yet the religious traditionalist didn't know, nor care who He was or what He could do.
12 And He straitly charged them that they should not make Him known.
He again commanded evil spirits to not say a word about who He is.
13 And He goeth up into a mountain, and calleth unto Him whom He would: and they came unto Him.
Christ called each one of them to come to Him individually, choosing who would be His ordained disciples.
14 And He ordained twelve, that they should be with Him, and that He might send them forth to preach,
15 And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:
Humans can't ordain anyone to preach, heal the sick or cast out devils. This power only comes from God.
16 And Simon He surnamed Peter;
Christ changed Simon to "Peter" = rock where Christ Jesus is The Rock.
17 And James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and He surnamed them Boanerges, which is, The sons of thunder:
When James and John spoke, they made noise. They preached The Word with boldness.
18 And Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Canaanite,
19 And Judas Iscariot, which also betrayed Him: and they went into an house.
20 And the multitude cometh together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread.
Christ and the disciples are so busy serving they don't have time to eat themselves.
21 And when His friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold on Him: for they said, He is beside himself.
Christ "friends" here are his "kin" and "beside himself" here is His family member saying He has lost His mind. If you have family that hate you for being a Christian, than you understand this quite well. I even have some that call themselves "Christians" that hate everything I stand for. This is the same thing that Christ is going through here.
22 And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth He out devils.
"Beelzebub" Aramaic Hebrew = "Beelzeboul" = "lord of the flies", also "the lord of dunghill" where flies love to be, another name was "prince of the demons".
23 And He called them unto Him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?
He called these trouble makers over and asked them a question that should make them think. "How can Satan cast out Satan?"
24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.
If you have anything working against itself it will fail. Sometimes its even the motive behind the actions of people in charge.
25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.
Be careful of those that are destroying "from within."
26 And if satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
27 No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.
The evil spirits that are in bodies are part of satan's house. Christ had to bind satan before He could release a person from that evil spirit. That's one reason they can't cast evil spirits out. They themselves are part of that evil.
28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:
There is of course a condition to this. It is through repentance in Christ Jesus name we are forgiven. There is but only one unforgivable sin.
29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Spirit hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.
30 Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.
Evil is always twisting things. They have unclean spirits, so they accuse Christ of it while wanting to murder Him.
31 There came then His brethren and His mother, and, standing without, sent unto Him, calling Him.
Christ is in there laying it down on these evil people and His Mother, brothers and sisters come to the door and call to Him.
32 And the multitude sat about Him, and they said unto Him, Behold, Thy mother and Thy brethren without seek for Thee.
Some of these same family members are the ones that said He was "beside Himself" = crazy, but they call Him out of fear He will be in trouble.
33 And He answered them, saying, Who is My mother, or My brethren?
34 And He looked round about on them which sat about Him, and said, Behold My mother and My brethren!
Christ is letting it be known, that all around Him are His family. No genetics here! Those that believe in Him are His family. We are His family †
35 For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is My brother, and My sister, and Mother.
Real Christians are His family. We are family in Him. I've tried to get people to see that my blood family is earthly, not spiritual. When we see spiritually, we see our mom, dad, brother or sister aren't blood related in the end. The fact is all souls come from God and though Him we are ALL related, but in Christ, we become closer in relation to life now and to come. Keep speaking The Truth to bring those that refuse Christ to be part of The Family. Perhaps one day they will leave the holds of satan and live.
