Titus 2

1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:

"Speak" = "Preach or Teach". If you're not sure of something, keep your mouth shut about it. Teaching God's Word isn't a game.

2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.

"Sober" = Vengeance and alert, "Grave" = honorable in all matters. "Temperate" = self control. We as Christians should be ready to teach or rebuke. Ready to love or hate, in righteous indignation. What I mean is, if we love, we don't conform to someone's evil actions, we speak out against it. "Patience" in teaching The Truth to those that are placed in our lives.

3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;

"Aged men and aged women" = those that hold positions of authority and leadership within the congregation. A "false accusers" = a gossiper. This "much wine" is just that! Drinking in excess = getting drunk. There isn't anything wrong with having a drink of wine. To many churches say you shouldn't drink at all, being ignorant of God's Word. They put people in bondage and you won't find that in God's Word. I add that I understand using the grape juice because of those with abuse problems or for those that just don't want to drink wine, but to say we "shouldn't at all" is not Biblical.

4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,

We are ALL to be on alert while living in this evil world. Only One Way to do that and it's to Keep ourselves in The Word of God. There is no gender in being a role model to those in our lives. Just stay focused and show them The Way.

5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

"To be discreet" = The use of common sense. "Chaste" = pure in your thinking, staying modest. "Keepers at home" = paying attention to the needs of your family.

6 Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.

ALL should be "sober" and not corrupted in thought. ONLY within The Word, can you be separate from evil.

7 In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,

Christ set the example for us to follow, Christian = Christ like. Many in this world today won't see what we do as Christians because they reject most or all of the things of Christ. Don't worry about that. They hated Christ then and people are going to hate you now. Continue in The Word in your words and actions. John 15:18 If the world hate you, ya know that it hated me before you.

8 Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.

This "evil thing" is what would be contrary to The Truth of God's Word, not humans. Speak The Truth and know your facts. After that, let the chips fall where they may.

9 Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;

Were talking about an employer, employee relationship. Within the Church, the Pastor is to help lead the others as it goes down the line. God is The Head of a REAL Church and it's a matter of being obedient to those in authority over them.

10 Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.

"Purloining" = Taking things you're not entitled to. Paul's instructions are to be honest in all matters of your life.

11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

"Grace" = Unmerited Favor, we have been given forgiveness through repentance in Christ Jesus for all that call upon His name.  John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

God showed us The Way, He gave us The Way and through Him, He gave us His Word, The Manual for life, to life.

13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

If you are one of those looking for our Lord, you are on the right track. Well, if you know who comes first that is.  2 Thess. 2:8-9  8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:      9 Even him, whose coming is [after the working of Satan] with all power and signs and lying wonders,

14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

Christ gave His life, that we may be made alive. Free from our iniquity's. When you accept and believe, it is done and He doesn't want to hear anymore about it. No matter what you have done! Do you believe? Then live it!

15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

Rebuke those that say any differently. You don't have to take a bath to be saved, Christ shed His blood for that. Don't let anyone put you in bondage. When any so-called pastor or any person for that matter tells you something you know beyond any doubt, because you have STUDIED it, tells you something that doesn't line with The Truth of God's Word, REBUKE them in Truth. God bless you all and keep you safe.
