2 Corinthians 9

1 For as touching the ministering to the saints, it is superfluous for me to write to you:

It should be obvious to you how much Titus and Luke love you.

2 For I know the forwardness of your mind, for which I boast of you to them of Macedonia, that Achaia was ready a year ago; and your zeal hath provoked very many.

Paul told everyone about the church of Corinth, that they were an example for the others.

3 Yet have I sent the brethren, lest our boasting of you should be in vain in this behalf; that, as I said, ye may be ready:

Paul sent Titus and Luke to gather the tithes so he could focus on other church matters when he arrives in Corinth.

4 Lest haply if they of Macedonia come with me, and find you unprepared, we (that we say not, ye) should be ashamed in this same confident boasting.

Paul may have some from the church of Macedonia with him, so he wants things in Corinth as he has boasted about to be true when he gets there. He doesn't want any confusion from what he has said about them.

5 Therefore I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren, that they would go before unto you, and make up beforehand your bounty, whereof ye had notice before, that the same might be ready, as a matter of bounty, and not as of covetousness.

Paul wants everything the church needs to do get done before his arrival. The tithing should already be done. Paul is coming to preach The Word, nothing else.

6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

You give according to what your heart tells you to give. God sees all things and knows what you feel. This 10% stuff has no real biblical truth. God doesn't tell us that we must give 10%. That's total false doctrine and with many churches today, I'm surprised their not saying 50%. Sparingly or bountifully is between you and God. It has nothing to do with humans seeing it. When you show others your tithes, it all about you, nothing else.

7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

Without being a loving, cheerful giver, blessings are of no use to you. Without God in your heart, it's all in vain. The hands are out everywhere. Many promise something in return. If that's what you're looking for, their glad to help you loose some of your money and self. If you feel it in your heart to give, without expecting anything in return, than you are a loving cheerful giver. God loves you!

8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

God will see you meat your needs no matter what you give of your heart. He provides for the birds, He'll provide for you. Matthew 6:26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Christ tells us, not to worry, look how God takes care of the birds. God does it for birds, how much more is His concern for you?

Matthew 6:31-34  31 Therefore take no thought, saying, what shall we eat? ' or, what shall we drink? ' or, wherewithal shall we be clothed?  32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.  33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Seek God and be blessed in all your needs. He takes care of His Children that love Him. Don't worry about anything.  34  Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.  Faith

9 (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever.

God said it in The Old Testament and repeats it here in The New. The power of God has dispersed abroad. He sees the poor are taken care of through those that love Him. Nobody gives more than Christians do. He works through you. Psalm 112:9 He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; His righteousness endureth for ever: His horn shall be exalted with honour.

10 Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;)

God gives the seed to the sower and He sees to it His will is done. He blesses those that follow Him in His work. He gives the increase. Look around you today. You may not know it but The Word isn't being planted that much. Many haven't heard The Word of God as it is written. This is the last generation to see all things come to pass. Amos 8:11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord:  They are fed bits and pieces like rats. They're kept trapped in false doctrines and haven't a clue what is Truth. Believe me, I've spoke to them. They refuse sound doctrine. 2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

11 Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.

ALL blessings are from God and He sees to it you're well taken care of if you follow His will. If you're one of these loving, cheerful givers, I'm sure you have seen His work in your life exceedingly.

12 For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God;

Everyone including God is blessed when you follow Him in His Work. We do these things for our Father and His glory be shown throughout.

13 Whiles by the experiment of this ministration they glorify God for your professed subjection unto the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal distribution unto them, and unto all men;

Do you witness to others about The Gospel of Christ Jesus? Do you follow Him? Do you give from the heart to help in the work of God? If so then,

14 And by their prayer for you, which long after you for the exceeding grace of God in you.

15 Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.

This Ministry hasn't had much over the years, but what God has placed us on some hearts, His work has and is being done. It's through God blessing us through them that we have been able to help others in physical needs and spiritual needs. If truth be told, it's been two people and you know how you are. One has been giving every month and is a blessing to God, the Ministry and me. God meets our needs and Glory is His. If you're unable to give money, you should give Him time. You're willingness to study His Word is a love He wants. If you need a Bible, let me know. E-mail me at Toddovm@yahoo.com
