1 Thessalonians 1

1 Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Thessalonians were faithful followers of God's Word and examples to everyone in their faith in life and to the power of God.

2 We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers;

Thessalonica, is called Salonica today and is in Greece, part of the Aegean Sea and north of Athens. With a large Jewish population, it was an important metropolis because of its ports.

3 Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;

They were can do Christians. Faith is the key that opened their love. They got out there and did the work of The Lord with patience, knowing beyond a doubt, God was with them.

4 Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God.

Look what this book has done to the Christian world today. For a very few, it has brought The Truth of The Lords coming and for many, it has been twisted, creating a doctrine of humans escape plan. These people were chosen before the foundations on this world. Created for Gods plan. Many of us are chosen for things. You were chosen to be here, now, for a reason. It's up to you to see your purpose. You'll never see it ignoring The Truth of God. Ephesians 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

5 For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

Paul's telling them, they came for their sake, not their own, but for them. That they could tell The message was of God. God's Word builds strength and in strength there is power. The more you grow in The Word, reading and studying it daily, the more you're able to overcome the evil of the world and satan. God's Word is our armor.  Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. The Truth of God will bring you out of the traps of satan. Through the blood of Christ, His sacrifice, we have been given The Way, and in His Word, The Path. But we must pick it up, open it and study it carefully. It's up to you to be set free†  2 Timothy 2:25-26  25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;  26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

6 And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit.

Paul and Silas were great examples in Christ. Paul and Silas afflictions were being jailed and beaten for bringing The Word. The Thessalonians opened their eyes and ears to The Truth, regardless of the evil that would come against any believers in Christ. They were able to see love, where there was much hate, power where there was weakness.

7 So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia.

Because Paul and Silas fed the Thessalonians The Truth, and by them being the Christian example for the Thessalonians, the Thessalonians were therefor Christian examples for all them in Macedonia and Achaia, and throughout everywhere they went beyond Macedonia and Achaia.

8 For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing.

9 For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;

Paul and Silas fed them The Truth, The Holy spirit gave the understanding to those that sought The Truth and therefor the Thessalonians turned to God and away from those worldly things they worshiped. Once you have cleared your mind, body and soul from the ways of the world, you have a clear sight on The Things of God. You get to work for Him. We are at war and the battle lines are clear. It's God verses satan and the end result has already been written. 1 Peter 2:11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;  satan wants you to put your guard down. he doesn't want you to know there is good and bad, he wants you to conform. A "live and let live" attitude. A whatever goes mind set. There must be a right or wrong or everything becomes right, with no wrong. The end result;  John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.  Revelation 2:11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.  Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

The whole subject of the entire book has now been opened to us. We are going to be studying about the coming of Christ Jesus, the second advent. I wish you to place everything you have heard on this subject to the back of your mind and focus on this study. Many have been given a false hope. Follow closely please.
