1 Corinthians 5

1 It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife.

Even the Gentiles would see incest as being the wrong within the church.

2 And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you.

They're boastful about the incest, where they should be ashamed. They see the man walking around church like there is nothing wrong with having sex with his dads wife, his mother. And they say nothing about it. When you decide to be a Christian, you change. If you don't change, you that continue to go to church aren't christian, but a person that could cause a fall of the church. How many times do you see a church split because the evil of others? It happens everyday. We're not talking about forgiveness. Don't twist what's being said here. Look at the verse. They understand it's a sin, they don't care. Is that a church of God? Do you strive to follow God in your church, or do we let the world take control of it, creating what the world would have it be, instead of what God says it should be. Is there such a thing as a orgy church of God and it be of God?

3 For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed,

Paul is telling the Corinthian church that their own common sense should tell them what to do with this person.

4 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,

When the congregation is together with Paul and with the power of Christ.

5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

This evil man should be kicked out of the church, that he may see his evil for what it is, following satan. That he would have a change of heart and turn back to Christ. Today's churches with the sugarcoated junk they've put in place of Truth, would let it continue with their terms of "forgiveness", conforming to the ways of the world. Where is the salt? Where is the discipline, the rod, the power of Truth? When we let evil into the church, it will infest the whole church. This isn't what I say, but what God says within this chapter.

6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?

Yeast added to the dough spreads throughout the whole and will cause it to rise, it is contaminated with that little leaven. It spreads as an example of evil within the church.

7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

Paul is telling them they are not  followers of Christ, but of evil and should be thrown out of the church. Christ isn't our "easter" = a pagan god, but is our "Passover" where we see as that day Christ Jesus died on the cross for the sins. Passover, Pascha, pas'-khah; The Passover, (the meal, the day, the festival or the special sacrifices connected with it):  Matthew 10:38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.  You must die from the worldly way of thinking and follow that path Christ set forth. Remember to be Christian is Christ like and He being perfect we strive for that perfection. You can’t achieve that with thinking earthly.  Matthew 26:18-19  18 And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at thy house with my disciples.  19 And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them; and they made ready the passover.  Little did they know, He was about to become the “Passover” Lamb slain for us all. If they would have just seen what was right in front of them.

8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

The feast is our Passover, Christ Jesus our Passover, The "Holy Communion". Repent from the heart and follow The Truth. If we ignore The Truth of God, we follow the lies of satan.

9 I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:

We are ALL sinners, but what we are seeing here is allowing someone to change the church into a place that ignores God and The Truth. We see the sin and allow it in as though it's nothing. 2 Cor. 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.  Hosea 9:15-17  15 All their wickedness is in Gilgal: for there I hated them: for the wickedness of their doings I will drive them out of mine house, I will love them no more: all their princes are revolters.   16 Ephraim is smitten, their root is dried up, they shall bear no fruit: yea, though they bring forth, yet will I slay even the beloved fruit of their womb.  17 My God will cast them away, because they did not hearken unto him: and they shall be wanderers among the nations.

10 Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.

Evil is everywhere we go, but it shouldn't be allowed to continue in your church. When you see it and allow it, you will become it. You had better change it. We are to be separate or we shouldn't call ourselves Christians at all.

11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

"called a brother" = says they're Christian, but do these things. Their fakes! They're lier! We are "NOT" to be a part of their lives. By doing this you cause a conviction within their heart. Pray they listen and change. It's up to them. It's called "tough love" today.

12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?

See the sin and judge accordingly. We can't help others out of their sins and to the forgiveness of Christ if we are all part of the sin. We can't help anyone when we live for the worldly ways while calling ourselves a Christian. We lie to ourselves. We should discipline ourselves in order to be what we say we are. Where is the power of Christ in you if you're a fornicator, covetous, or an idolator, a railer, a drunkard, or an extortioner, etc.

13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

A little sin within the body of believers can spread. The incest will spread, bringing in every sort of evil into the church. Without fixing it when you see it, the whole thing will breakdown. Forgive them for what they've done, but don't allow them in until they change. We don't help anyone when we conform to them doing evil. When we allow them to continue while you live a different life. You're either with God and Truth or satan and the world. You can't have both! Mark 3:25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.
