1 Corinthians 8

1 Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth.

Knowledge that's puffed up is someone that's acting like a know it all, but charity edifies when you help others understand on their level.

2 And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.

There isn't a person on the face of the earth that knows everything and if you ever hear someone say they know The Word, they fool themselves because The Word grows in us as we grow in it. Today people fight over knowing it all. Most of the time it's those that know very little that want to act like they have all the answers. 2 Timothy 3:1-7  1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.  2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,  3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,  4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;  5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such [turn away.]  6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,  7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

3 But if any man love God, the same is known of him.

If you love God, you study His Word and The Truth will shine through.

4 As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one.

There are some that get dressed up, sit in large places to worship and they give hotdogs to their gods, it's called football today. Religions have idols and every religion has their sacrifices to their idols. Every idol will be just like their sacrifice, digested to become waste. So don't waste good food. Christianity is the ONLY reality

5 For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)

The world continues to create gods because they run from God. They've created 1000's because thay hate The Truth.

6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

They have all their gods to worship and give food to. They carry them around in their pockets or put them on their shelves. Christians have The Creator of heaven and earth, The Creator of every animal, plant and human. He gave of Himself that we may have life. He doesn't require food from us, just faith and love.

7 Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled.

Those in religion with their gods and food, would freak out if they saw a Christian eat what they sacrifice. Our conscience should be able to tell us what matters and lead us to reality.

8 But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse.

What we physically eat has nothing to do with our souls. There are foods to eat and foods to stay away from because they're made to clean the earth. These foods can help you live or kill you, but what you feed your soul is what you should focus on. God feeds us giving life but gods will send you to death.

9 But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak.

Feeding too much Truth too soon in Words or actions can cause them to fall. As an adult mature Christian, we must be careful to those babes in Christ or those that worship gods. We set the example. Be bold without being rude. Be salt without conforming to the sugarcoated junk of the world.

10 For if any man see thee which hast knowledge sit at meat in the idol's temple, shall not the conscience of him which is weak be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols;

11 And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died?

They may see what you eat as a sin so don't let them see you eat of it. If you do they'll think on you as evil. You can eat anytime, don't push the issue. What truly matters is the soul

12 But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ.

Wait until the one that believes you can't eat the sacrifice of their idol is gone before you eat it or you will cause them to fall. What difference does it make waiting for them to go before you eat what they believe you shouldn't eat. It's just food!

13 Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend.

Use the gift of common sense God has given you. You should know what is truly important if you're an adult Christian.
